JOINT LOCAL MEETINGS ON COASTGAP IN BARCELONA

Barcelona (SP), 15-16th September 2014: In order to facilitate the dissemination of COASTGAP Best Practices among regional partners of Spain, the Interfase group from UAB organized two local events, the “Local meetings on COASTGAP Best Practices dissemination” at the Casa de Convalescència, in Barcelona. The attendees were representatives of the autonomous communities of Balears, Catalunya, Comunidad Valenciana, Murcia, Andalucía, Canarias, Galicia, Cantabria, País Vasco and ciudad Autónoma de Melilla. A representative of the central government of Spain of the Dirección General de Sostenibilidad de la Costa y el Mar was also present. The attendees were very interested in knowing the tools of coastal and marine management capitalized in the COASTGAP. The debate focused mainly on two elements: the usefulness of the tools presented and the challenges for their implementation (authority and budget restrictions, mainly).

The Interfase group from UAB developed a specific web page for COASTGAP dedicated to local stakeholders, the "COASTGAP Local".
