2nd COASTGAP STEERING COMMITTEE MEETING & PROJECT CONFERENCE IN VALENCIA

VALENCIAValencia (ES), 6-7 March 2014. The second Steering Committee Meeting and the International Conference of the project Coastgap was hosted by the partner FEPORTS in Valencia to discuss on the progress of the BPs capitalisation process and the first draft of the COASTGAP "Joint Action Plan on MED Adaptation to Climate Change" (JAP on MED ACC).

COASTGAP-MARENOSTRUM (ENPI-CBC MED) NETWORKING ACTIVITY

Alexandroupoli (GR), 20 February 2014. Region of East Macedonia and Thrace, as representative partner of COASTGAP project, participated in the conference of MARENOSTRUM project (ENPI-CBC MED Programme) invited by the Municipality of Alexandroupolis in order to establish networking and promote the project, in particular the Bologna Charter. Some partners of MARENOSTRUM from Israel expressed interest on clustering on the Bologna Charter, and some projects' common issues raised up regarding the creation of an Observatory by MARENOSTRUM project.

From the Greek side, REMTH will organize soon a meeting or an event under COASTGAP flag among the Greek partners of the two projects and the relative bodies, to present their objectives and results and to share knowledge especially on ICZM.

 


 

IMC WORKING GROUP ON INTEGRATED MARITIME POLICY

Bologna (IT), 20 February 2014. The "Bologna Charter Coordination Board" kick-off meeting was held in Bologna next 20th of February. This meeting was organised thanks to the project COASTGAP since one of the objectives of the project is the preparation of a Joint Action Plan for the Marco-Project indicated in the Bologna Charter. The Bologna Charter Coordination Board was activated within the Integrated Maritime Policy Working Group of the InterMediterranean Commission of the CRPM.

LOBBYING WORKSHOP IN BRUSSELS ORGANISED BY THE JTS

Brussels (B), 12-13 February 2014. The Joint Technical Secretariat of the MED Programme organised an interactive workshop called "How to advocate project results for more political commitment?" addressed to the MED capitalisation projects. The communication expert of the project COASTGAP attended the workshop.


 

TECHNICAL MEETING IN ROME IN FEBRUARY 2014

Technical_meeting LAZIO-REMTHRome (I), 07 February 2014. Lazio Region managed a bilateral technical meeting with the representatives of the Region of East Macedonia and Thrace (Greece) to face specific technical issues raised up by the partner, in order to support it during the BPs capitalisation process. Researchers of ISPRA for Lazio Region and the consulting company YDRONOMI for REMTH provided technical support to the Regions' officers.


 

TECHNICAL MEETING IN ROME IN JANUARY 2014

Rome (I), 10 January 2014. Lazio Region managed in Rome an informal meeting with Liguria and Toscana Region to face specific technical and financial issues raised up by the two partners in order to support them during the BPs capitalisation process. Researchers of ISPRA, University of Florence and University of Genoa provided technical support to the Regions' officers.


 

MOU COASTGAP-RITMARE 

Rome (I), December 2013: the MOU between the project Coastgap of the Lazio Region and the flagship project RITMARE of the CNR was signed. 


 

COASTGAP GUEST OF THE ENPI CBC-MED CAPITALISATION EVENT

Rome (I), 26 November 2013. Lazio Region, as COASTGAP lead partner, was invited by the JMA of ENPI CBC MED Programme to attend the Capitalisation Event  on "Sustainable development and spatial planning" in the Group “Integrated Coastal Zone Management and Transport”, providing its view on the emerging “good practices” and “challenges” highlighted by the ENPI projects during the meeting sessions, in order to foster cross-fertilisation, synergies and impact, and to develop synergies and complementarities with ongoing projects.

Among the ENPI Projects of the Group “Integrated Coastal Zone Management and Transport”, MARENOSTRUM (strategic project) and MAPMED (standard project) have been targeted for possible synergies with COASTGAP on ICZM approaches and methodologies to manage the coastal sand as a resources. Network actions with these projects will be set up soon.
